Kalida Local Schools

Wellness Committee
The Kalida Local Schools Wellness Committee met on December 15, 2023, to review the district
wellness plan. The agenda consisted of updates on nutritional education, including healthy food
selections, nutritional practices and marketing campaigns geared at promoting healthy choices.
Physical education updates focused on meeting guidelines for recess, meal times and scheduling,
integrating activity into the classroom and introducing staff wellness initiatives. The committee
agreed the district was in compliance with all guidelines and will look into expanding mental
health wellness opportunities for students in the second semester. The bullying awareness
campaign set into motion at the beginning of the year will continue. The committee will meet
again near the end of the school year.
