Greg Knueve was recently selected to receive the 2018 Gene Stechschulte Award. Greg was one of eight nominees this year and was actually nominated by two different people.

Jackie Schimmoeller wrote the following: Greg was the first person that came to mind as I read the requirements. He has been a great positive role model in several areas. He is always willing to lend a hand, whether it is at a school function; such as sports, band, academics, boy scouts, Kalida Lions, or in the adult choir at St. Michaels. Gene made a wonderful impact on our community and shaped a lot of our own community members through his actions. I feel Greg does the same thing. He has been a wonderful, positive role model for both my boys and I’m sure so many more kids and people in Kalida.

Another nomination came from Gery Wurth: Greg gives up much of his time to help with the boy scouts. As scoutmaster, he sets up weekend camping trips, conducts meetings and spends much time helping the boys complete their badges. Greg has been doing this selflessly for many years.

Greg will receive his award at a presentation associated with a Kalida Local Schools event, which has yet to be determined.
